Onda and local newspapers

Will Onda used local newspapers to advertise his films from 1908 until the 1920s. We are using these adverts to list every local interest film that Onda made and screened in Preston. This invaluable work is being done by Preston historian and Harris volunteer Peter Vickers who has a great interest in Preston’s film history. We hope to use this to identify surviving films by Will Onda.  The earliest surviving film by Onda so far is Empire Day, 1909 in the BFI National Archive (P6).
